The Story Of My Life
Mensonges et trahisons et plus si affinités...
Director: Laurent TIRARD

A splendidly cast, laugh-out-loud comedy about urban romance among Parisian thirty-somethings, THE STORY OF MY LIFE is a crowd-pleaser from start to finish!
Raphael (Edouard Baer) is a glib but talented author who has built a career out of ghostwriting autobiographies for French celebrities. He’s happily dating Muriel (Marie-Josée Croze) but life changes when he starts writing a book on soccer superstar Kevin (the terrific Clovis Cornillac). Wading through Kevin’s monumental ego and strange creative notions is a challenge in itself, but what really sets Raphael’s mind off course is the discovery that Kevin is dating Claire (Alice Taglioni), the object of Raphael’s unrequited college affection. Suddenly determined to woo Claire away from Kevin, Raphael hasn’t quite figured out how to do this without alienating his girlfriend or his client…
Writer-director Laurent Tirard is clearly out to entertain from the first reel. His charming and witty tale of romantic self deception deliciously recalls the offhand observational style of early Woody Allen, and features an infectiously joyous lead performance from Baer, and a scene-stealing Cornillac.
