Just Friends
Je préfère qu’on reste amis
Directors: Eric TOLEDANO and Olivier NATACHE

JUST FRIENDS is a bittersweet, odd-couple comedy about a reluctant pair of middle-aged bachelors confronting the challenging Parisian dating scene.
Thirty-five-year-old Claude (Jean-Paul Rouve) is a mildmannered, non-descript computer technician at a financial firm. At the wedding of his good friend Daniel (Lionel Abelanski), Claude meets Serge (Gérard Depardieu), an outgoing fellow who says he’s on the bride’s side of the family. Before he knows it, Claude is thrust into Serge’s singles-scene life, attending speed-dating sessions and crashing wedding receptions on weekends (where 56% of married men are said to have met their spouse!).
Depardieu as the smooth-talking extrovert and Rouve as the nerd who is taken under his wing make an amusing pair, and their journey is both funny and touching. The tremendous difficulty the two encounter in their quest for a temporary companion of the opposite sex – let alone a soulmate – makes for some hilarious fun.
